Systematic Anticoagulation Management (SAM)

SAM is a patient-focused approach to anticoagulation management that utilizes PT/INR testing at the point of care rather than through an outside lab.

Multiple studies have shown that a systematic approach to anticoagulation management, focused at the point of care, may increase the time patients on warfarin therapy are in range, reduce adverse events, improve patient satisfaction, and lower the costs of care.1,2,3,4,5

The SAM Advisor Program is an educational resource from Roche Diagnostics designed to help healthcare professionals learn more about point-of-care PT/INR testing and the most effective ways to implement systematic anticoagulation management in their practice

The program consists of three components:

Connections Peer-to-peer information exchange with leading clinicians in the field.
Resources Reference tools to provide clinical knowledge and offer insights to help facilitate SAM implementation.
Solutions Products and other support to facilitate easy, accurate PT/INR testing at the point of care.
